ABOUT me
Hi, I’m Claire – founder of Flame Lily Sound Therapy. I offer one-to-one sound therapy sessions, group work, and retreats designed to help people process emotions, trauma, and life transitions without needing to talk through them.
With a Master’s Degree in Music Composition, over 15 years experience as a music educator, and two diplomas from the British Academy of Sound Therapy, I bring a musically-informed, trauma-aware approach to this work. I’ve presented research on the role of music in brain development to educators, musicians and psychologists, and I continue to explore how frequency and vibration affect the nervous system and emotional processing – including how sound may influence the body even without being heard, which I intend to study through PhD research focused on its effects in deaf people.
Ultimately, I dream of opening a sound therapy and retreat centre by the sea or in the mountains – a place of fire, forest, stillness, and sound. Until then, I come to you in the comfort of your own home within the borough of Barnet, in North London, and welcome you to everything Flame Lily Sound Therapy stands for: honesty, depth, and the courage to feel.

WHY FLAME LILY SOUND THERAPY?
The Flame Lily is the national flower of Zimbabwe, where I was born, and has always been my favourite. It’s the first flower to emerge after the first rains – a symbol of rebirth, resilience, of hope, of quiet transformation. That felt deeply right for the work I now offer, and for the season of life I’ve stepped into.
The flower itself is stunning – wild, vivid, and unlike any other. But it’s also poisonous, and animals in Zimbabwe instinctively know not to eat it. And yet, from this poisonous plant, modern medicine has extracted colchicine, a compound used in treating cancer and gout.
I often think about that paradox – that something feared or dismissed can also contain real healing. It’s one reason this flower speaks to me so deeply.
I know what it’s like to be misunderstood. And I also know what’s inside me: not danger, but medicine. And like the Flame Lily, I’ve learned that healing can come from places others might not only overlook, but shun.
